When traced, the following error is visible:

** One of the join conditions involving the following unoptimized property is not allowed, since it can severely degrade performance: .SystemName. Revise the join conditions or optimize the property.

Steps to Reproduce

1) Open a backlog instance.
2) Select "Bulk process" from the "Settings" button.
3) Select any user story from the list.
4) From the actions menu select "Update BackLog".
5) Click "Submit".

Root Cause

This error occurs because the property "SystemName" which is used as a join criteria for a Report Definition that underlies the bulk process has not been optimized for reporting.

Resolution

There are two possible solutions to this issue:

Solution A (best performance): Optimize the properties involved by using the option to "optimize property for reporting."
https://pdn.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v719/procomhelpmain.htm#tools/propertyoptimization/aboutpropertyoptimization.htm

Solution B (alternate solution): Enable the system setting which allows the pzpvstream properties (unoptimized properties) to be used in join conditions:
Alternatively, one can create and set the following DSS to true.

Note that this will allow you to run the report, but it will not perform as well when using unoptimized properties as it would if you optimize the properties. Optimizing properties for reporting is specifically so that the stream (the Pega BLOB) does not need to be extracted and decompressed when running reports.
