Cassandra and the ADM nodes do not work

SA-84896

Summary

All the Cassandra Nodes stop working and one of the Adaptive Decision Management server is Unreachable.

Error Messages

WARN  [main] CassandraDaemon.java:181 - Non-Oracle JVM detected.  Some features, such as immediate unmap of compacted SSTables, may not work as intended

Steps to Reproduce

Unknown

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.

Cassandra does not support IBM JVM.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Use the OpenJDK or Oracle's JVM.

If the user does not want to to change the JVM for the servers, then configure a custom Java home for Cassandra after performing the below:
  1. Applying HFix-44049.
  2. Set the dnode/cassandra_java_home prconfig setting.

The ADM nodes depend on the  Decision Data Store (DDS) nodes. Since the failure of the DDS nodes, the ADM nodes also fail.
