Closing Browser will not unlock work object

SA-3554

Summary

Closing tab of a work object (WO) will unlock work object but closing the browser will not unlock all locked work objects.

Error Messages

N/A

Steps to Reproduce

Open few work objects in a perform harness, then close the browser.

Root Cause

This is an expected behaviour. PRPC works this way. If instead of closing open cases or cleanly logging off you close the browser then that requestor session doesn't terminate. All the work objects opened by that requestor will remain locked untill the preconfigured lock timeout passes.

Resolution

In this case you have two option to unlock those work objects.
  1. When you try to open a locked WO then you get a review screen where you get the option to terminate the previous session and unlock WO. (Note: In this case only the User who holds the lock will see the option to unlock the item. Other users can't unlock it.)
  2. From the system management application, you have the option to terminate the previous requestor session. Doing that will automatically unlock all items locked by that requestor.
