Declare Index When indexing condition is not working as expected

Summary



The When rule in the Indexing Condition resolves to the Source Page Context Class in the rule form but resolves to the Applies To class at runtime.

Error Messages



Failed to find instance PegaSample-Test of Type Rule-Obj-When.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Declare Index rule
  2. Specify a When rule from the Source Page Context Class in the Indexing Conditions section
  3. Run a process that causes the Declare Index to execute

Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rulesHFix-10116 modifies the rule form behavior to match the existing runtime behavior of resolving the When condition based on the Applies To class of the Declare Index rule.

Submitted product enhancement request item FDBK-9074 to modify the runtime behavior to use the Source Page Context Class.

Resolution



The discrepancy between the rule form behavior and runtime behavior is resolved by hotfix item HFix-10116.
Product enhancement request item FDBK-9074 has been submitted for the requested change in runtime behavior.
