Does BIX 2.3 work with PRPC 7.1?

Summary
Can we continue using BIX 2.3 SP1 after our application is upgraded to PRPC 7.1.x, or do we need to upgrade to BIX 7.1?
Resolution
The explanation for this behavior is as follows: PRPC 7.1 requires BIX 7.1 and will not work with BIX 2.3.
