Drop down validation error does not read in JAWS (18 and 2018)

Summary



User configures a drop down as required value with client side validation using Job Access With Speech (JAWS) 18 and JAWS 2018. The user tabs out of the drop down control without making a selection. The field level validation error does not read.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a drop down as a required value.
  2. Tab into the drop down control.
  3. Tab out without selecting a value.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. JAWS does not read the newly added element (the validation message).

Resolution



Apply HFix-41704.
