Drop-downs behave differently in IE than Chrome or Firefox

Summary



Dropdowns behave differently in IE browser when compared with Chrome or Firefox. In IE, the first item in the dropdown list covers the currently selected item. In Chrome and Firefox, the first item in the dropdown list displays below the currently selected item.

Steps to Reproduce



Open a dropdown in IE and compare with behavior in Chrome or Firefox.


Root Cause



This issue is due to differences in how IE and Chrome handle dropdowns. IE covers the currently selected item with the dropdown choices, while Chrome and Firefox display the choices below the currently selected item.

Resolution



This issue is entirely due to browser design, rather than Pega, and cannot be changed.
