Edit Report Title does not respond on IE8.

Summary



In Report Definition "Edit Report Title" command is enabled. When developer opens Report Definition and clicks "Edit Report Title" command, nothing happens.

Issue is reproduced for all Report Definitions, including OOTB reports on Internet Explorer‘8.

During javascript and IE debugging the error “parent node is null or not an object” occurs.

Steps to Reproduce


1. Save the rule "RRHeader" with a different name (say RRHeaderCP) in a custom ruleset(say myApp:01-04-04).
2. Do a save as for "displayReportSection" and save it in the above mentioned ruleset. (Note:- the name should be unchanged for displayReportSection).
3. In the recently created displayReportSection, replace the "RRHeader" section with RRHeaderCP.
4. Now run a report, and click on Edit Report Title icon



Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. In WEBWB PZPEGA_REPORT_COMMANDRIBBON.JS the section item "RRHeader" section was hard coded.

Resolution



This issue is resolved by hotfix item HFix-20796. Customer had customized and renamed the RRHeader section item and as in WEBWB PZPEGA_REPORT_COMMANDRIBBON.JS the section item "RRHeader" section was hard coded developer were getting error while clicking on the Edit Report header icon. With this HotFix, the hardcoded section item "RRHeader" has been removed and now the same item is being loaded dynamically.
