Export to Excel not exporting all the data on Report Definition

Summary



Export to excel is not exporting the grand total for the report definition. This happens only for Excel and not for pdf.


Resolution



The explanation for this behavior is as follows: 

We offer two export formats for reports, Excel workbooks and PDF files, that are intended for separate purposes.

PDFs are intended for those who want output formatted as it appears in the Report Viewer, and want to distribute that output without having to worry about others changing the data on the report.

Excel workbooks are intended for those who want to take the data on the report and perform additional calculations or analysis, using Excel's features. To make it easier to use Excel's features, we output the data in a format that is different from that shown in the Report Viewer. For example, we repeat all Group By column values on each row of the workbook, which makes it easier to do filtering, pivot tables, etc. For the same reason, we don't include total columns or subtotal rows in Excel.
