Export to Excel from report definition fails for 100K rows

Summary



When increasing the maximum number of rows to 100K, the report fails while exporting to Excel.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Select the report definition rule for ServiceStats.
  2. Navigate to Actions and click Run.
  3. Change the Filter to 'Last 30 Days' and Apply the changes.
  4. Click Export to Excel. The Excel report displays only the default of 10000 rows.
  5. Private Edit the report definition.
  6. For the Data Access, set the 'Maximum number of rows for export' to '100000' and Save.
  7. Navigate to Actions and click Run.
  8. Change the Filter to 'Last 30 Days' and Apply the changes.
  9. Click Export to Excel.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules 

When a large report was exported to Excel, it exceeded the 64K limit on cell styles in Excel.


Resolution



This feature is implemented in Pega Platform 8.2.5.
