Extra line-breaks are introduced in RTE content upon save

SA-4392

Summary

User has a Rich Text Editor (RTE) control to add content while creating a work object. User enters content with line-breaks in RTE and clicks on OOTB 'Save Draft' button available on a work object. Extra line-breaks are introduced upon each click of the 'Save Draft' button.

Error Messages

No error messages.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a section and put a RTE control inside it.
2. Create a flow using a flow action that references the section created in Step 1.
3. Run the flow. When the screen with RTE is shown, add some content that has line-breaks. Now, click on 'Save Draft' button available for the work object.
4. It is observed that line-breaks in RTE content increase with every click of 'Save Draft' button.

Root Cause

The reported behaviour didn't existed with Pega 7.1.6. As part of Pega 7.1.7 release, modifications were made in RTE control to replace '\n' (new lines) or <br> tags with empty spaces. This caused the reported problem in Pega 7.1.7.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by hotfix item HFix-20165. This HFix reverts the changes made for RTE control in Pega 7.1.7 so that the behavior is similar to what we had in Pega 7.1.6 version.
