Extra space in generated PDF through HTML to PDF

SA-38563

Summary

User has upgraded from Pega 7.1.8 to 7.2.2 and has noticed that extra space is present in the generated PDF when using HTML to PDF, which is causing the document to extend to second page.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create an activity to create a PDF with a header, markup and footer using HTMLToPDF and view the behavior in Pega 7.1.8 and Pega 7.2.2.
2. In Pega 7.2.2, there will be an extra space between the header and marker.

Root Cause

In Pega 7.1.8, though the header body is configured with height: 300px, the PD4ML library(I.e, 390 DMS Pro) pushes the body content to left over space and ignores height: 300px.
In Pega 7.2.2, since header body is configured with height: 300px,the PD4ML library, that is, 398 DMS Pro, is sets the height to 300px and renders the body content after the specified height resulting in extra space in between the PDF header and the body

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Set the body height to less than 300px (like 150px or 200px) or remove the height property from the body.
