Focus issues on MenuBar control

SA-8825

Summary

When you click on the menu bar, focus is set to the menu; then you click on the harness input elements or actionable element, focus is lost from the menu.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a menu using menubar control.
  2. Click on the menu item which opens a harness.
  3. Perform any action in the harness, focus will be lost from the menu.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is software use/operation error.

This is an expected behavior. You have set the active and inactive background colour for the MenuBar control, which means that the menu will be active with specific background colour On Focus, and different background colour On Focus Out. So, when you click on the menu to perform any action, it gains Focus and sets your active background colour. If you are performing any other actions on the screen, the focus gets shifted to those respective fields. Hence, it explains that your 'Menu' lost focus now (Focus Out) which sets the inactive background colour.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior.
