Issue in logging custom events to PegaRULES-SecurityEvent.log

Summary



When passing a value with special characters (such as, a"b), unable to log custom events to the PegaRULES-SecurityEvent.log where the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) syntax is not present.


Error Messages

not logging valid JSON


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an activity with a Java step to log custom events
  2. Run the activity through an agent
  3. Pass the parameters containing special characters in the middle of a string as per the document
  4. Verify the EventSecurity log


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. Special characters in the security log corrupted the JSON format in the Pega Security event log.

Resolution



Apply HFix-49932.
