JAWS does not recognize single column tables as tables.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to the application
  2. Add a table with a single column
  3. Press the JAWS 2019 shortcut key for 'table' or 'list of tables'

Root Cause

A third-party product issue. This is an issue with JAWS 2018 and 2019.


Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

JAWS 2018 and 2019 considers single column tables to be 'layout' tables, not data tables, and therefore does not read them as tables.
