JVM nodes crashed

SA-2891

Summary

JVM nodes crashed.

Error Messages

'java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space'

Thread Dump Starts...

and some other errors

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in customer application code/rules. A new version of application rules was introduced over the weekend, and one of these rules incorporated an Obj-Browse method which pulled an uncapped amount of data from the DB - filling the heap space and forcing the JVM OutOfMemory.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by making the following change to the PRPC operating environment: The new application ruleset version was backed out - and the system became stable once this was performed.
