Summary

The PRPC logoff functionality is logging the user out of all applications in different tabs. This is due to the fact the IE authentication cache is cleared by the PRPC logoff functionality.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Log off of PRPC.
2. Observe behavior of other applications in other browser tabs.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error. This is the expected behavior of the PRPC software in this version. 

Resolution

The clear authentication cache is done by the PRPC logoff functionality for security reasons to prevent the user from being automatically re-authenticated. There is no alternative or more application specific authentication cache clear that is available in the browser. Thus the issue described here is experienced by the user.

Note: This functionality is changed in Pega 7.x, and an authentication cache clear is no longer performed.
