Mismatch warning from hotfix manager



When installing hotfixes onto a system with strategic applications, a warning is displayed by the Hotfix Manager.

This can be observed on a system with Pega Platform 7.2.1 and Pega Customer Service 7.21 when a hotfix package is installed using Hotfix Manager.

Error Messages

There is a mismatch between the hotfix package and your system.
The following additional products are present on your system:
> Pega CustomerService 7.21
Send Pega Support the results of a System Scan to ensure that your hotfix packages are relevant for all products on your system. This message can be ignored on development systems.

Steps to Reproduce

Attempt to install a hotfix package using the Hotfix Manager.

Root Cause

The warning message is displayed due to the presence of Pega Strategic Applications in the system.

It is a warning that altering core Pega Platform functionality can, in some instances, have an impact on the proper functioning of the system.


If user is not certain that the hotfix is intended to be installed on a system with the strategic applications, user is suggested to contact Pega Support if this warning message appears, providing the list of applications (indicated in the message) and a hotfix inventory.
