Mobile client does not adhere to max length limit for text input

Summary



Mobile client does not adhere to maximum length limit for text input fields. As an application developer, you have set a maximum length of 25 characters for your "First Name" input field, but the field will accept more than 25 characters when the application is used on a mobile device. The issue affects both Android and IOS mobile devices.

Steps to Reproduce



1. Add a text input field to your user interface.
2. Set the MaxLength for the field to 25 characters.
3. Bring up the section containing the field.
4. Enter a text string with more than 25 characters.


Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. The validation code was not enforcing the MaxLength value.

Resolution



This issue is resolved in Pega 7.1.9.
