Pega Busy indicator stuck on in repeat grid add

SA-24517

Summary

When the user is attempting to access a web application from an external network, a screen action which causes a refresh of a section containing a checkbox results in a busy indicator which never goes away. The browser becomes inoperative, and must be closed.

Error Messages

"TypeError:  cannot read property "id" of undefined...."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a grid with a checkbox in it
  2. Trigger a refresh

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The section being refreshed has a checkbox in it. Occasionally, the Javascript (JS) file pzpega_control_checkbox.js, required for that checkbox, reloads during the section refresh. A race condition ensues which causes script execution before everything finishes loading. This results in a JS error, with the resulting nonstop busy indicator.

If you examine the actions taking place by using Fiddler, you will observe that the script pzpega_control_checkbox.js is being downloaded during the refresh.  This download of the script must be taking place to confirm that it is the problem being described in this Support Article.

Resolution

Apply HFix-27353.
