RTE control tooltip for pxRichTextEditor

SA-70439

Summary

On defining a placeholder text on the Rich Text Editor (RTE) field input (pxRichTextEditor Control) and hovering over the field, a tooltip displays stating, 'This is a rich text editor control'.

The requirement is to add a tooltip option for the pxRichTextEditor control (similar to that which is present for pxTextArea) or display the Placeholder text.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Open or check the out-of-the-box Advanced RichTextEditor from the UI Gallery and hover the mouse.

Root Cause

The tooltip displayed from the title attribute which was set on the body tag in the RTE's iFrame document. This can be changed to 'empty' by localizing the tooltip text on pyCaption property.

For more information, refer to: Procedure to remove unnecessary tooltip on RichTextEditor (SA-10852).

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Create a field value for pyCaption and Title, 'This is a rich text editor control'.
  2. Add the translated value as '&nbsp' (HTML non-breaking space character).
  3. Resave the section containing the RTE.
