Screenpop: Bind failed for port 7017



Screenpop error occurs sporadically when using Citrix.

Screenpop: Bind failed for port 7017, Error (8007271d)

Steps to Reproduce

Log in to the application using Citrix.

Root Cause

The bind issue occurred because the desktop applet or OCX presence agent was started again. The OS or Java runtime was updated in the Citrix environment. This may change the plugins behavior. Additionally, a range of ports, that allowed port scanning, was not used.


When the error occurs, run the 'netstat -an' in a Command window.

Additionally, including the port scanning behavior allows the applet or control to use the next available bind while waiting for the prior bind to timeout and be reclaimed.
