Tags are getting misplaced when source for paragraph is viewed

Summary



The tags are getting misplaced when user view source for paragraph with Pega 7.1.9.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Paragraph rule.
  2. Go to source code
  3. Paste the below text:

<ul>
<li>&nbsp;
<ul><pega:when name="SampleWhenRule"> </pega:when>
<li>&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

4. Toggle the source code button observe the un-ordered list elements get rendered multiple times.


Root Cause



As identified the root cause, this is due to applying the when rules to HTML block elements.

Resolution



Type: Local-change

Local-change: User requested not to use When rule for HTML block elements, When rule should be configured to inline block elements (span tag) like below:
