TextArea control incorrect remaining character count

Summary
TextArea 'Remaining character count' is incorrect when carriage returns are present in the TextArea data.

Steps to Reproduce
- Configure a TextArea control to display character count.
- In the TextArea, copy or enter data that also includes carriage returns.
- Delete a character from the textarea. The remaining count does not display as 1 and displays 0 instead. It continues to display 0 until backspace is pressed equal to the number of carriage returns present in the data. Now, the remaining character count changes from 0 to 1.
Root Cause
A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
The updateTextAndCounter function in the PZPEGA_CONTROL_TEXTAREA control calculated incorrectly the newline characters or carriage returns present in the data.
Resolution
Apply HFix-54226.
