Unable to create a field value with more than 64 characters

SA-11036

Summary

Users are not able to create the pyCaption for Radio button with value greater than 64 characters, when they are implementing localization.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Root Cause

The explanation for this behavior is as follows:

FieldValue references are stored as values in pr_index_reference table.
pyFieldValue size is limited to 64 characters and it cannot be increased because FieldValue rule has three keys - classname, fieldName,f ieldValue each of size 64.

Resolution

As the DB size for fieldvalue is limited to 64, Pega cannot create a field value for more than 64 characters.
