Unable to set the SMA temporary directory

SA-56579

Summary

Unable to set the System Management Application (SMA) temporary directory.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Unknown

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the  operating environment. The -Dcom.pega.sma.tempdir was incorrect. It must be -Dcom.pega.sma.tmpdir.

Resolution

Make the following change to the operating environment:

Pass the system property as a JVM argument as below,

-Dcom.pega.sma.tmpdir=/your/tmp/dir

If the com.pega.sma.tmpdir system property is not specified, SMA proceeds as follows.

If Nodes.xml file is present in the directory specified by user.home system property, then this file is used. Else, the system looks for Nodes.xml in the directory specified by the javax.servlet.context.tempdir property retrieved from the ServletContext object, and creates the file if it does not exist.
