WebLogic ModuleException during EAR deployment in 7.2.1



User updated to Pega 7.2.1 split schema environment. Trying to deploy the prpc_wls_jee4.ear and it fails.

Error Messages

<BEA-149265> <Failure occurred in the execution of deployment request with ID '1468492006429' for task '6'. Error is: 'weblogic.application.ModuleException: '

Caused By: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/pega/jmx/connection/util/JMXClientStartupListener : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

Steps to Reproduce

Try to deploy ear on WebLogic application server.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.  

Trying to run on Java 6 which Oracle stopped supporting in February 2013 and is not supported in Pega since 7.1.7. Refer:


Make the following change to the operating environment:  

​Upgrade to Java 7 which is supported on Pega 7.2.1 and then deploy the application.
