Pega Constellation ’25 is packed with everyday UX wins: reusable dynamic text, card-style reference fields, real-time form guidance, cleaner tables, and streamlined self‑service Case Views. A new Case hierarchy widget and a resizable Case Preview make complex work easier to navigate. In this article, I’ll demo each highlight so you can adopt them right away.
Highlights in Constellation ’25
-
Dynamic Text Rules Constellation applications now include Dynamic Text Rules—a centralized way to store and manage UI copy that isn’t part of case data or processing, such as instructions, labels, and helper text. These rules can appear in multiple contexts across the app and support reuse, localization, rich text, and business logic (for example, When rules).

-
Data Reference fields support cards You can configure reference fields to display as a gallery of cards with single‑ or multi‑select. Because cards can combine text and images, they’re ideal when users need to compare options before choosing. For example, a loyalty program awards screen can present options as image‑and‑text cards to make selection easier.
Field warnings and contextual messages in forms Form Views now support contextual, real‑time messages at the field level. These messages can be driven by When rules or custom logic, and you can pair them with a standard Dynamic Text Rule to tailor content using field inserts. The result is clearer guidance that reduces ambiguity and errors that could impact case processing

-
Embedded Data lists support custom labels When using an Embedded Data list of record fields, you can customize the text shown next to the Add button at design time. By default, the button label comes from the Data Object referenced by the Embedded Data field, but you can override it like any standard field label. This lets you use different labels for different fields sourced from the same Data Object, improving clarity and consistency.
Text wrapping in tables Constellation tables now support text wrapping. When enabled, long values automatically wrap to the next line at the column edge, improving readability without forcing horizontal scrolling.
Simplified Case View for self‑service portals You can create a streamlined Case View for self‑service portals by choosing which UI elements to exclude from the standard layout. This gives self‑service users a focused experience while keeping the full, feature‑rich work portal intact for users who need all Case View controls.
New Case hierarchy widget A new Case hierarchy widget is available in the Constellation utilities pane. It displays parent and child relationships in an expandable nested list, showing the full structure from grandparent down to grandchildren levels. Hover over a case name to preview key details, or click to open the case directly. For more details, see Widgets in Constellation.

-
Support for resizing the Case Preview You can now adjust the Case Preview to your preferred width, making it more prominent or freeing space for other UI components. Previously, the preview used a fixed size.
Two ways to resize:
- Drag: Click the edge of the Case Preview and drag its border horizontally.
- Keyboard: Use Tab to focus into the Case Preview until the Resize button appears, press Space to activate resizing, then use the Left and Right arrow keys to change the width.
