This article summarizes new Insights features in Pega Infinity 25.1 that make analysis faster and clearer: built-in calculations (math/date/time/text) usable as measures or dimensions, cascading promoted filters that restrict values to current Insight data, conditional formatting for tables (Good/Caution/Critical) to highlight key metrics, and click-through partial Views that show additional object details. It also provides quick, step-by-step setup guidance and simple examples for each feature.
Support for using calculations in Insights Insights in Pega Platform ’25 now support built-in calculations for math, date/time, and text so you can automate data prep and analysis. You can combine properties with out‑of‑the‑box functions, nest functions, and then use the result as a measure or dimension in your Insight.
Steps:
- Explore Data > open your Insight > Edit.
- In the Calculations pane, click Add calculation.
- Enter a Label, choose a Function, and set parameters (change parameter type if needed).
- Click Submit to add the calculation.
- In the calculation’s Actions, add it to Groups, Measures, or Dimensions.
- Save the Insight.
Demo example: Flight duration in minutes and hours
- Add calculation: Label = Duration (minutes).
- Function = Difference in minutes (date).
- Parameters = [Flight Arrival time, Flight Departure time] as Property references.
- Click Submit.
Support for cascading filters in Insights When authoring Insights, you can select the Restrict values to Insights data checkbox so that promoted filters show only values present in the current Insight. This makes filters interdependent (cascading): choosing one filter updates the available values in the others, enabling focused drill-down and faster analysis.
Steps:
- Open the Insight and click Edit.
- Promote the filters you want to expose to users (if needed).
- For promoted filter, select Restrict values to Insights data.
- Optional: Add multiple promoted filters on the same property.
- Save the Insight.
- To revert to the previous behavior, clear Restrict values to Insights data.
Support for applying conditional formatting to tables You can apply conditional formatting in table-based Insights to highlight data that meets your rules—using Good (green), Caution (orange), or Critical (red)—to improve readability and draw attention to key metrics.
Steps:
- Explore Data > open the Insight > Edit.
- Table tab > Conditional formatting > Add condition.
- Select the Field (not supported: Work status, Assignment status).
- Choose a Conditional operator and set Compare with/Value.
- Pick a Display format: Good, Caution, or Critical.
- Click Submit.
- Optional: Use Menu to Edit/Remove, select Hide icons, add more conditions, and drag to reorder (first matching condition applies).
- Save the Insight.
Support for additional details about objects in Insights In App Studio, you can enrich table-based Insights by linking partial Views to specific fields. When users click a field at run time, a dialog opens showing details from the partial View, adding helpful context to the Insight (for example, clicking a Loan amount can reveal status, creation date, and total with taxes).
Steps:
- Explore Data > select your data to create a new Insight, or open an existing Insight and click Edit.
- Drag the desired field from Available fields into the table.
- Next to the field, click Actions > Format.
- In the Format dialog, set Open to Highlighted view.
- In View, choose the partial View with the extra details (for example, PassengerDetails).
- Click Submit.
- Save the Insight (Save Insight for existing, or Save as Insight for new).
