Circumstanced rule not working as indended

SA-4307

Summary

You have a validation rule that is circumstanced. When you run the activity that calls one of these rules, all the properties are set correctly. However, the circumstanced rule is not being called correctly and instead always uses the base validation rule.

Error Messages

N/A

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a base validate rule
  2. Create a circumstanced version of the rule based on the value of a property
  3. Call the validate rule from an activity

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is software use/operation error. That validation rule is circumstanced based on a property value "PropVal" but test activity was setting value to "PROPVAL".

Resolution

The explanation for this behavior is as follows: PRPC is case sensitive and it will consider this a different value. Changing the value to match the circumstance logic exactly corrects the issue.
