Steps to Reproduce
- Create a layout group tab containing sections that refer the same grid, and with the data page as the source.
- In the Presentation tab, select the 'Allow personalization' checkbox.
- Disable the 'Refresh when active' option for one of the dynamic layouts.
Root Cause
A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules
When a layout refresh occurs and if a grid is present in the same section, the State page of the grid is deleted. Hence, the operations that occur on the grid, result in a NullPointerException.
In this use case, multiple dynamic layouts are present in the dynamic layout group, and each dynamic layout has a table.
All the dynamic layouts, except for one, have a Refresh condition configured. Hence, when the user switches tabs in a dynamic layout group, the State page is deleted because the 'Refresh When' is configured on the dynamic layout. Since, the State page is deleted, NullPointerException occurs.
Resolution
Perform either of the following local-changes, in the dynamic layout group,
- Configure all the dynamic layouts with 'Refresh when active' option.
- Configure all the dynamic layouts such that they do not have the 'Refresh when active' option.
