ConcurrentModificationException thrown from isSourceBackLinkPend

Summary



After upgrading from Pega 7.2.1 to Pega 7.2.2, when accessing work objects, the work object does not open and shows an error on screen.


Error Messages



The screen error when accessing a work object is "Problem in JSP fragment".

In logs:
ERROR - Section 'NoWorkID' execution error on page 'pyDisplayHarness' of class 'YourClass'.
java.lang.RuntimeException: Problem in JSP fragment

Caused by:
java.util.ConcurrentModificationException
at java.util.HashMap$HashIterator.nextEntry(HashMap.java:934)
at java.util.HashMap$KeyIterator.next(HashMap.java:968)
at com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.clipboard.ReferencePropertyLinkBase.isSourceBackLinkPending(ReferencePropertyLinkBase.java:544)
at com.pega.pegarules.data.internal.clipboard.ReferencePropertyLinkToCommonParent.getSourceProperty(ReferencePropertyLinkToCommonParent.java:103)


Steps to Reproduce


Try to open a case ID from "My Worklist" where the case was created in the earlier version of Pega.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution



Apply HFix-32830.

Although unrelated, after this error was cleared up, another error was revealed:


"InvalidReferenceException: The reference [not specified] is not valid. Reason: null reference"
This subsequent error was fixed with HFix-33627
