Data type created report definition with Column Name and * field

SA-62306

Summary

When creating any data type, a class, a report definition, and two data pages are created.
The report definition is created with column Name fields and a '*' field. This causes, a Medium Type guardrail warning to display.

The number of fields with '*' is equivalent to the number of keys of the table or class.

For example, on creating a data type with three key fields, the report definition is created with three * fields. This results in three medium guardrail warnings.

Error Messages

Guardrail warning: Cannot create field value for this field.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a data type with two key fields.
  2. Open the report definition using the Data Table Editor.

Root Cause

UI fields are generated in the pzSetUpRecordEditorRD data transform where the asterisk (*) is appended when the fields are marked as the Primary key. Therefore, Guardrail warnings increase when a report definition is generated.

Resolution

  1. Apply HFix-46203.
  2. Manually change existing report definitions that are already generated with guardrail warnings.
Alternatively, update to Pega 7.4.
