Entered text disappears in IE11 when unexpected value is entered

SA-10012

Summary

Entered text disappears if it does not adhere to the property type expected by the control. For example, entering text in a field using the Integer control. When using Google Chrome, the behavior is as expected, the text stays and an error message is displayed. When using IE11, the error message displays but the text clears.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a field of Integer type in a section.
2. Enter some Alphabetic text and tab-out. Note that the text disappears.

Root Cause

The issue is with the HTML5 attribute type=Number used in pxInteger, pxNumber, pxCurrency and others. This attribute is not supported in IE10 and IE11.

Resolution

Changing the pxInteger control to "Text input" control resolves the issue.
