Error adding step, ClassNotFoundException

Summary



When attempting to add a step to a case, a popup error occurs and a ClassNotFoundException appears in the logs.


Error Messages



"There has been an issue; please consult your system administrator" in the client user interface.

In the logs the following appears for various functions and classes.


ERROR Problem invoking function: pega_uiengine_formatter.pxFormatValue--(String,ClipboardPage,boolean,boolean)
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.pegarules.generated.pxFormatValue_071017_yHMfagbHVGz4_tNlu2ybjQ


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open any case type to the "Edit case type" screen.
  2. Select a stage.
  3. Click "Add Step" at the bottom of the stage.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment. A possible database connection issue results in a corrupted library.

Resolution



Regenerate the libraries by following the process detailed in PDN article:
