Error Messages

Log errors

Interrupted by service shutdown

Interrupted by unexpected service shutdown

Steps to Reproduce

Scenario 1
Perform a graceful shutdown of the DataFlow node during an on-going campaign program run.

Scenario 2
Perform an abrupt shutdown of the DataFlow node during an on-going campaign program run.

Root Cause

This behavior is as per the Pega product design.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:
While performing a shutdown of a node gracefully, the DNode DataFlow service (Shutdown-function) marks the DataFlow runs with the message, 'Interrupted by service shutdown'. Hence, the 'Interrupted by service shutdown' error message occurs in the logs.

The DNode DataFlow service (Start-up function) at the time of PRPC startup causes the 'Interrupted by unexpected service shutdown' error to occur in the log. This occurs when a stale or running assisgnments (with running status) are present in the data base for the data flow run, which is the result of abrupt or kill -9 type of server shutdown.
