Extra History entry being logged in the Work History

SA-4756

Summary

In CompleteAssignment (Pega-ProCom : 05-05-01) Activity, the AddWorkHistory is getting called in steps 7 and 8 which is before the execution of the Post Activity of the Flow Action. The History entries in the case happens even though when some validations error messages are generated in the Post Activity of the flow action resulting in the reloading of the current flow action.

These entries are somewhat misleading because in case after getting the error message due to the validation, the user does not performs the same action and switches to a different action and completes the new action.

When the work object gets saved after the new action gets completed, there is an extra History entry stating the completion of the flow action which actually was not submitted by the User after getting the error message.

PFA containing the screen shots of the tracer sessions for both scenarios, when error occurred and when no error occurred.

Error Messages

No error messages

Steps to Reproduce

1. Perform a flow action which would result in error message being populated.
2.Perform anothe action in the same case by swiftching the flow action.
3. Submit this action without any error.
4. View the History of the Case

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules.
