Inconsistent Graph colors when chart is displayed in a section

Summary



A report definition is included in a section using the pxChart control.

The cell has a click event configured to bring up the report defintion in a separate viewer. When the user clicks the chart, the resulting report in the viewer sometimes has the colors for the columns or lines reversed from what is displayed in the chart control.

In the chart control on the dashboard, Cases missed is in blue, Total cases is in orange:



When the graph is clicked and the report comes up in a separate viewer window, the color legend is reversed - Cases missed is in orange, Total cases is in blue:

Steps to Reproduce



1. Create a report definition.
2. Configure the report definition chart display.
3. Include the report definition in a section using pxChart control.


Root Cause



An issue in the custom application code or rules. The system is working as expected.

The choice of colors for the chart legend is done algorithmically, and the algorithm can make different choices in different viewing scenarios (for example, maximize, drill down, or in this case in a separate viewer window).


Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

Set specific line color choices in the Cell Properties on the Presentation tab of the chart in the section:
