Java Exception raised at startup after installation

Summary



When installing and starting the PegaRULES log generates an exception: Illegal type in constant pool.


Error Messages



2016-02-24 15:24:30,272 [ PegaRULES-Batch-3] [ STANDARD] [ ] [ PegaRULES:07.10] (ernal.async.BatchRequestorTask) ERROR - Batch activity "@baseclass.pzInstallation" threw:
java.lang.VerifyError: (class: com/pegarules/generated/activity/ra_action_pzinstallation_3d7ed1923f32a8043cb489b745af3cb6, method: step2_circum0 signature: ()Z) Illegal type in constant pool


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Pega on ORACLE/Tomcat platform.
  2. Start Tomcat Server.


Root Cause



User has changed the underlying JVM to a unsupported version.

Resolution



After reverting to a support JVM version, the application started without any problems.
