Root Cause
The root cause of this problem is in a third-party product integrated with PRPC. Sent explanation of the queries that were utilizing large amounts of TEMP space - these were queries that were executing the purge/archive process - selecting a large number of resolved work objects that qualified for purge.
Resolution
The explanation for this behavior is as follows:
Sent explanation of the queries that were utilizing large amounts of TEMP space - these were queries that were executing the purge/archive process - selecting a large number of resolved work objects that qualified for purge.
Customer also mentioned that the archive process had been interrupted for some amount of time (due to a space issue external to PRPC), which resulted in a buildup of resolved objects.
It is expected that the completion of the current round of purge/archive will reduce this overhead, and that subsequent purges (which no longer need to "catch up") will use less TEMP space in the DB.
