Summary

Unable to use field value to change the tooltip for Hour and Minute. It displays as 'tooltip: Hour' instead. The tooltip still displays when the text of tooltip is not removed. This occurs despite switching helper text to None and save.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a Date/Time control - Time only
2. Configure the presentation as Date/Time - Time, Dropdown lists. Hour and Minute display though tooltips are not selected
3. Add helper text, 'tooltip'
4. Translate to FieldValueTooltip. The tooltip displays as FieldValueTooltip: Hour

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. Time displays as 'tooltip: Hour' on using the  Field value to localize the tooltip for Hour and Minute. An issue with the tooltip message displays despite switching helper text to None and saving (without manually clearing the existing text). This is resolved with an update that clears the tooltip value when helper text is set to None. When Datetime is configured in the Dropdown mode, Hour, Minute, AM or PM, Day, Month and Year tooltip texts are not localized. The support to localize these fields using pyTooltip is added.

Resolution

This issue is addressed in Pega 8.3.3
