Log-in latency increases over time using SAML authentication

Summary



All users are experiencing noticeable latency (approximately 15 seconds) when trying to launch a Pega 7.1.7 application using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) authentication. The latency happens only when launching using SAML authentication, and the application performs well after launching.

Steps to Reproduce



Log in to Pega 7.1.7 using SAML authentication.

Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code related to the PRPC SAML Replay Cache. 

Resolution



This issue is resolved by hotfix item HFix-22795.

This hotfix provides a dynamic system setting to enable or disable the Replay Cache.

 
Pega-IntegrationEngine - sso/saml/disableReplayCache

Values:
true - replay cache disabled
false - replay cache enabled (default)
