MasterCard RCA biiling error code 4859 RS7

SA-7704

Summary

MasterCard RCA billing error (Incorrect amount...) answered yes to the amount charged incorrect and yes to addendum charge and the system returned the reason code 4958 RS7.
This is valid if a separate transaction and the cardholder indicates as unauthorized.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

Answered yes to the incorrect amount charged and yes to addendum charge question – and the return reason code was 4859 RS7  however this reason code is used if the cardholder is indicating they did not authorize a separate addendum charge.
If the cardholder has proof of billing error (not required but needed if represents) this would be 4831.  If the cardholder does not have proof of a billing error and it is not a separate transaction it would be a compliance case.

Root Cause

The property ‘LTDorAddendum’ has full description as ‘Is the dispute related to loss, theft, or damage charges or an unexpected addendum charge?’.
Now this has been changed to ‘Is the dispute regarding addendum charges related to loss, theft, or damage charges or on any unexpected addendum charge where the Cardholder does not agree with the additional items charged to his or her account?’

Resolution

HFIX- 21453 resolves the issue.
