ORA-12899 error during SMS output

Summary



External table is used to deliver SMS messages to SMS server. The requirement is to send SMS messages with more than 160 characters, hence, the target table column length is increased to 500.
However, campaigns still fail with ORA-12899 error.

Steps to Reproduce



1. Increase the target table column length to 500  
2. Add two 200 characters long Text fields to output


Root Cause



SMS campaigns uses an output table for SMSC. SMSC then pulls the data from the table and sends the SMS messages. Root cause was the output table, as SMS text column was set to 320, not 500. 

Resolution



Change text column length to 500.
