Parameter values in Field Value rules not localized

Summary

Some field value rules include dynamic parameters, such as the out of the box field value: ChangeTrack_Add which has the localized value of:

Added {1} value ‘{2}’

At run time, this adds an entry like: "Added Case Ownership value ‘Administrator’;" to the History Memo (pyHistoryMemo) of a case, where "Case Ownership" and "Administrator" are the run-time values of parameters {1} and {2}.

These parameter values are not localized by the Localization Wizard in Pega 7.1.8.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Run the Localization Wizard.
2. Provide translations for field values with parameters.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ rules. Some out of the box parameterized field value rules do not reference the necessary lookup controls.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Modify the necessary Field Value rules (you'll have to save them into your application ruleset) to include the necessary value lookup control. In this example, the CaptionLookup control has been added to the parameters, though others exist (such as StatusLookup or InstructionsLookup).
Add new field values for the necessary parameter values, using the parameter values (in this example "Case Ownership") as the Label and Translated value for the new field value and use "pyCaption" as the Field Name value. These field values should use @baseclass as their Applies-to class.
Repeat step 2 for each possible parameter value for any parameters in the field value that references them.
