Smartinfo disappears at certain screen resolutions

SA-32188

Summary

The user has a smartinfo configured on an element click event. When this control is clicked, the screen jumps to the top of the page and the smartinfo content is shown for a fraction of a second. Then the screen jumps back to where we were and where the clickable control is located and the smartinfo dissapears. This behavior goes away on very big screens or when the zoom in the browser is set to a low value.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Section and configure Smart-info tool-tip through an icon.
  2. In the Smart-info tool tip , refer a section which holds long content that doesn't fitted into a single screen.

Root Cause

During configuration of the Smart-info tooltip, following checkbox was not checked.

Auto-dismiss on hover away

As a result, on clicking of the tool-tip icon, the Smart-info pop-up gets generated. It consists a long content that doesn't fitted
into a single screen, so eventually a auto scroll happens on the tool-tip to present the entire content to end-user. As a result, the screen jumps according to the position of the Tool-tip icon in the screen(i.e., if the Tool-tip present onto the top, the screen jumps down and vise-versa). As long as the auto-scroll happens, this screen jumping occurs. The mose-pointer hover-action removed from the icod and the tool-tip gets closed. All are happening altogether, so user experence a jump on the screen.
When the user lowers the resolution, for a certain resolution, then the complete content of the tool-tip gets fitted onto a single screen, the jumping gets stopped.

Resolution

Check the 'Auto-dismiss on hover away' check-box during configuration of the Smart-info tooltip.

Apply HFIX-24996 to avoid disposition of the Smart-info tooltip after disposition.
