System freezes and login window displays during Hotfix Scan



Pega 7.4 is used with Pega Customer Service 7.4.

The Hotfix scanner does not work. The system freezes and the login window displays on refreshing the screen.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Select System > Release-.Hotfix Manager.
  2. Click Scan system.
  3. Select 'Check online' and click Scan.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error.
The JVM took a long time to process the Hotfix scanner operation. The session timed out before the Hotfix scanner could complete the scan.


Perform the following local-change:

Increase the session time on the server level files such as web.xml, or other server files.

To achieve the same within the Pega rules, specify the timeout value in the Access Group record.

For example, specify the timeout to 15 minutes.

In the Access Group record, enter the value in seconds (900 seconds).
