Unable to add emojis to email subject or SMS content in CMD

SA-60674

Summary

The requirement is to add emojis in the email subject or SMS content in Chordiant Marketing Director (CMD).

Resolution

To send emojis in SMS, the minimum encoding required is UTF-16, which is not supported by CMD. The supported character set is UTF-8. Additionally, using UTF-16 encoding reduces the maximum characters allowed in one SMS from 160 to 70.

Emojis in email subject cannot be added due to product limitation. However, they can be added in email content by choosing HTML element, and adding their respective hexadecimal codes in the source HTML file.
