Summary



Unable to create a new case type in Production. The screen hangs and errors occur on the Tracer.


Error Messages



Create new record failed: .pyRefToFocusKey: The rule name pyStartCase is a reserved name (starts with px, py, or pz) and is not created in a "Pega-" ruleset
.pyFlowType: The rule name pyStartCase is a reserved name (starts with px, py, or pz) and is not created in a "Pega-" ruleset


Steps to Reproduce



Create a case type.        


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment. Some of the rules on the pr4_rule_vw table are not present.

Resolution



Perform the following local-change:
  1. Restore the pr4_rule_vw table data from a previous backup
  2. Use the prpcUtils Expose command to repopulate the pr4_rule_vw table by refrerring the below link:
    https://community.pega.com/support/support-articles/rule-count-displays-zero-post-pega-83-update

     
  3. Execute the prpcUtils.sh Expose command using the below properties set in the prpcUtils.properties to populate the pr4_rule_vw table:
    expose.classes.included=Rule-
    expose.included.descendent=true
    expose.reindex=false
    expose.reindexType=full
    expose.update.rule.summary=true

     
  4. Specify the database credential details in the properties file
