Unable to login due to PegaRULES web application error

SA-29413

Summary



User observes a "PegaRULES Web Application Error" when attempting to login to the system. Further errors are observed in the SystemOut logfile.


Error Messages



In the browser:
PegaRULES Web Application Error
Message: An has occurred processing this request. Please contact your system administrator.
Unable to obtain build properties due to java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: null

In the SystemOut logfile:
com.pega.pegarules.internal.bootstrap.PRBootstrapDataSource Loading bootstrap properties from /prbootstrap.properties
com.pega.pegarules.internal.bootstrap.SettingReaderJNDI Could not find java:comp/env/prbootstrap/ in the local JNDI context, skipping prconfig setting lookup
com.pega.pegarules.internal.bootstrap.SettingReaderJNDI Could not find prbootstrap in the local JNDI context, skipping prconfig setting lookup

Steps to Reproduce



Try to log into Pega Autonomic Event Services (AES) 7.1.7.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment. The PegaRULES JNDI bindings in the application server are not configured properly.

Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

​Configure the JNDI bindings in your application server as per the directions in the installation and deployment guide.
